The Hunting Doll takes us back in time 150 years in a beautifully restored and maintained historic storefront built around 1850. The building is constructed of hand hewn timber frame, which has been dated by vintage restoration specialists to the mid-1800’s. The Hunting Doll is located in historic New Market, Maryland, a small country town which is fondly known as the Antiques Capital of Maryland. Historic New Market is primarily a residential town whose habitants have the unusual fortune of zoning for an antique shop in their homes.

In 1793, two distinct properties called “Hunting Doll” and “Dorsey’s Partnership” were purchased to form one town of New Market. Ever since, New Market has been a bustling town filled with people who enjoy the quaintness of a small town but who also love to shop. Visitors have commented that they walk back in time simply by strolling down historic Main Street.

The Hunting Doll was established in December 2000 as an eclectic antique shop featuring antique furniture, country store displays, books, and musical equipment. A small section of the store was devoted to collectible jewelry, purses and hats including those used as props from popular movies and television shows. The Hunting Doll is set up as a theatrical old fashioned country store and boasts antique displays which make the shopping experience charming and warm.

The demand for unique jewelry grew rapidly at the Hunting Doll. Little by little, the Hunting Doll featured more of what the customers wanted: Jewelry, Purses, Hats and Scarves. The store diversified their product line to include new fashion jewelry from around the world. The skilled Hunting Doll buyers currently hunt for treasures in major cities. Every piece is one of a kind and hand selected by our experienced buyers who have proven them selves to be selective and artistic.

The Hunting Doll designers enjoy the challenge of exceeding the expectations of their valued customers.
